Located on the outskirts of Dehradun, along the seasonal Song river, the site was selected for setting up of the new Capitol Complex and the State Secretariat.

The design for the Capitol Complex thrived upon the notions of democracy – space, that is, for the people, of the people and by the people.

On either side of the circular plan for the Assembly building, the curvilinear planning of the Secretariat complex complements and unfurls the Assembly building as pedestrians walk up the steps along the offices.

Vastunidhi took this opportunity to design an iconic space for state’s people, a must in today’s times of ‘democratic dilemma’.
